Sartorius Forms Sales Partnership with PBI-Dansensor

Sartorius has formed a sales partnership with technology provider PBI-Dansensor. The Danish company provides quality assurance and quality control solutions and is a world-renowned supplier to the food industry. The agreement provides for the Sartorius Industrial Weighing division to market PBI-Dansensor products, which are used for testing gas-flushed packages, as part of its statistical process control (SPC) software solution.

Based on this partnership, which will initially cover sales of products in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and will be extended later, Sartorius will be able to provide its customers in the food industry with even more comprehensive solutions for packaging applications, all from a single source. PBI-Dansensor products such as the "MAP Check 3" gas analyzer or "MAP Mix Provectus" gas mixer can be easily incorporated into the production lines. They can be easily connected to the Sartorius SPC software solution, making them the best-possible addition to the Sartorius product portfolio for the fields of checkweighers, metal detectors, and X-ray inspection systems.

Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) systems in the fresh food production process are constantly gaining in importance and have become a key part of packaging lines and their quality assurance. They allow users to define the amount of gas required to conserve foods such as meat, cheese, and lettuce during the production process. The systems allow gases to be mixed and fully checked, so as to ensure a perfect atmosphere in the gas-flushed package.
