New BCR®/IRMM Reference Materials Catalogue 2003 available
The latest update of the 2003 catalogue is available on the Internet (http://www.irmm.jrc.be/mrm.html) and contains 2 new series of GMO CRMs:
- IRMM-411R
- IRMM-412R
- IRMM-411R
Six Certified Reference Material (CRMs) of dried maize powder with different mass fractions of genetically modified Bt-176 maize have been produced by dry-mixing of whole meal flour from non-modified maize (variety 'Bahia') and GM Bt-176 maize (event variety 'Garona Bt-176') of seed quality. The CRMs have been certified by the Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements, Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (EC-JRC-IRMM) and are intended to be used for the calibration of detection methods for GM food.
IRMM-411R is replacing IRMM-411 and is now available in the form of glass bottles containing approximately 1 g of maize powder.

- IRMM-411R-0: < 0.14 g GM dry powder / kg dry maize powder
- IRMM-411R-1: 1.00 ± 0.29 g GM dry powder / kg dry maize powder
- IRMM-411R-2: 5.0 ± 0.6 g GM dry powder / kg dry maize powder
- IRMM-411R-3: 10.0 ± 0.8 g GM dry powder / kg dry maize powder
- IRMM-411R-4: 20.0 ± 1.1 g GM dry powder / kg dry maize powder
- IRMM-411R-5: 50.0 ± 1.8 g GM dry powder / kg dry maize powder

IRMM-412R is replacing IRMM-412 and is now available in the form of glass bottles containing approximately 1 g of maize powder.
